The scheme can be explained simply by examining the aims of the scheme as published;
- Aims of the Scheme
The aim of this Scheme is to:
- Provide financial support to venue owners to take pro-active steps to implement noise mitigation measures to better control and reduce sound emissions at source;
- Help maintain and develop strong relationships with neighbouring residents and businesses;
- Help support any planned extension of opening hours for nightclubs and other late night venues operating in the night-time economy as proposed by the publication of the Sale of Alcohol Bill 2022;
- Improve the in-venue health and safety of audiences, performers and staff;
- Support additional cultural opportunities in the Night-Time Economy.
Dalton Acoustics Ltd. are an approved acoustic consultancy in that they fulfil all of the requirements for carrying out the Stage 1 part of an application for grant approval.
Stage 1: Assessment of Eligibility
Applications that are deemed eligible for the Scheme will be approved in principle to commission a report on the venue by a registered professional acoustic consultant who is a corporate member of a professional body (such as theAssociation of Acoustic Consultants of Ireland (AACI), the European Acoustics Association (EAA), or the Institute of Acoustics (IOA in the UK) or equivalent).
Ideally consultants should hold specialist expertise in building acoustics/engineering noise control/environmental noise. They must carry professional indemnity insurance relevant to the contracted works.
Dalton Acoustics are an Independent Professional Acoustic Consultancy. The Principal of the company Mr. Ted Dalton is a Corporate Member of the AACI and the IOA UK. He is specialist in Architectural / Building Acoustics as well as having IOA accreditation in Environmental Acoustics. Dalton Acoustics carry full professional indemnity insurance relative to the works for which they are contracted. Ted currently is Secretary of the Association of Acoustic Consultants Ireland and also sits on the Irish Branch Committee of the Institute of Acoustics.
Dalton Acoustics Ltd. at any one time are involved in multiple noise and licencing issues and have extensive experience in this area of venues and noise along with planning applications for same.
